I have a few dedicated co/lo boxes running as production servers and really lately only use linode to fire up quick / temp, stage / test environments.

Been paying for a lot of idle time.

Last week realized I'd been paying for some EC2 instances for 4 months that I could swear I shut down.

I need to pay better attention.

I am with Digital Ocean and just found out Linode offers the same server config with twice the RAM for the same $10/mo..
I'll switch to Linode if DO doesn't do something about it...

Linode is always upgrading what you get for your monthly money.

For example, my disk space on my $10/mo plan went from 34gb to 30gb (on SSD disks no less).

Heck, my original $20/mo plan from 12+ years ago was for 24mb ram and 8gb disk and 200gb transfer - today that gets you 4gb ram, 50gb disk, and several TB of transfer...
