FIESELER-STORCH-Fi-156 plans /prints ?

How come paper aeroplanes fly better without pilots?

Looks like the 3/4 scale kit is still being made. Storch Aviation | Serbia
Better specs than even the original I think.
Wiki says it's an ultralight but that might vary. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slepcev_Storch

There was a confederate Air Force chapter in rio Hondo Texas that had a storch in the barn. They're no longer active from what I can tell. But place like that are a good place to look.

There's a reason they build 3/4 replica's, it takes a lot of horsepower for a full size. Its far more affordable to run the smaller versions.

I would stay by contacting either the first link John70T posted, and ask. The worst that can happen is no.

Order Page | Pazmany Aircraft Corporation

$550 for a set of non certified 3/4 scale plans.

Also might want to try contacting Fantasy of Flight run by Kermit Weeks, his Storch is one of his favorite aircraft. If they don't have it, they might be able to put you in touch with someone that does. Longshot, but its not a horrible place to begin.

The company I work for used to make the ribs for Slepcev long long ago, currency fluctuations made it impractical to export from the USA to Australia.

Shifted to a model of trading sets of wing ribs for a built plane, then after that, sold them the machinery, tools, and dies we used. I do not think there would be anything around still from that for me to help you.

I think I know who that was.

A little too much fun.

I love how he goes over the pre-check instead of just a quick flight video. Eats a lot of time though, but worth it.

You just couldn't do this in those other planes without a trip to a doctor.

I didn't post it in your field plane thread, as I didn't think it'd fit the budget.

There are better modern planes out there at what the Storch does, but they lack the curb appeal.

Its going to be a serious time sink if you try to do this from scratch, multiple wing ribs deep, as you've got the front slat, main rib, and control surfaces that run most of the length of the wing that also get wing ribs.

You know your own skill set, you should talk to Slepcev about perhaps a partial kit. Twenty some years ago they used to do it, but I didn't see it on their website. You will save yourself a serious long time effort to get mass manufactured wing ribs pressed and cut from already made up die sets.

There was an original Fieseler when you made your last field plane thread in the $250K range IIRC, which quickly made me not suggest it.

There were two replicas in the $40-60K range at the time, but I do not see any for sale now.

I'd estimate about a year at 40hr/s week to scratch build one from raw materials if you have the skills. Lots and lots of individual non planar parts make up the wing structure.

Morane-Saulnier made them in France after the war. A buddy talked me into being partners on a FI 156 back in college. It was my first taildragger experience. I enjoyed flying it and remember always having maintenance issues with it. A buddy has a 3/4 scale copy a few hangers down from mine.....I can find out what make his is.
