Professional Liability Insurance (E&O) - Need a Policy
 

I'm picking up a new very large customer who requires professional liability insurance (errors and omissions). I have personal liability, I have business liability, but my agent does not carry professional liability.

Anyone know an agent that does sell this?

Any commercial broker offers this. Look for an independent agency - not the Farmers, Am Fam, State Farm, All State folks.

What profession are you in? In my opinion, if you are with an agent who doesn't offer professional liability insurance and you need general commercial liability (CGL) coverage, you're with the wrong company and the wrong agent.

You need to be with a real commercial insurance broker, not an insurance agent. You should be looking at the big commercial insurers like Travelers, Chubb, and CNA. Getting the right total package won't cost you much. Buying E&O coverage as a stand alone product will be cost prohibitive. Look for a broker, not an agent. The agent owes his duty of loyalty to the insurance company. A broker owes his duty of loyalty to the policy holder.

Based only on what I can infer from your initial post, I think you need an all risk CGL policy with an E&O endorsement. With that you can sleep well at night. Go to a broker, shop your business around and chose whoever gives you the best deal.
