Classic car insurance...again.
Did some searches. Currently with Hagerty, but just want to shop before renewing. What's the ballpark for Carrera values these days? I ensure so I can buy myself one big azz beer to cry in if she goes up in flames
. Garaged, rarely driven these days, and I know the 25k agreed value is low, but that's a BIG beer! Suggestions?

Some might ask for an appraisal but Hagerty bumped my coverage last time around without any questions.

I have $40k on my 88 Diamond Blue with 156k miles. I might request for a quote at $50k...

That is low in today's market. It's worth at least $50K.

I definitely need a new hobby or at least another brand...
Not arguing the validity of Jorian's statement, simply shaking my head... I enjoyed this hobby way more when those cars were $15-20K... Since you are with Hagerty (and I recommend them highly, because unlike most I've had a big claim and they delivered, my boss just had a big claim last week too and they delivered for him as well, in spades), check their valuation tool for your car, be realistic on condition (it's not a #1), add 10% for anniversary or whatever, go with whatever that may be... more coverage = more premium. Find a happy place. 25 is low for sure. Maybe look for a similar car FS and see what the asking price is... Last I looked I have not found other ins.co to be better and cheaper, or at least significantly cheaper that made it worth the risk of lesser service... I did move one of my oldies to another co. that gave me permissions to use it as a semi-daily (state farm). That's another issue.... |
