But they wouldn't go round corners or brake well despite having sound electrics

I looked high and low for on of these (in manual), back when I was on my muscle car kick. Not enough $$$$ in my bank account.

I wonder if that car is a friend's of mine who died in about 1995. He had the exact car in San Diego, too...

Dad had a gold '67. First car I ever went 100 mph in. Had a speed alarm thing on the dash, go over the set speed and a buzzer goes off. Dad turned it to the top of the dial when he got the car, 140, something like that. We turned it down to 105 and he set the buzzer off in Nevada on the way back to Cali from Nebraska. 435 with a LOT of torque. Same color gold as my buddy's 1970 455 Cutlass SX

Beautiful 65 riv.I am hoping mine will turn out that nice.I have been working on it now for 2 years off and on.Started with simple rust repairs and turned into a body on restoration.I really just finished with the paint work and polish and still need to do a final polish once i get the stainless trim on.Here are a few pics of the car today.

I've never seen a manual Riviera but a real GS had 2x4's and a lot of other cool stuff.

1965 Buick Riviera GS. Few make/model/years cannot be made to look better than they did bone stock. Buick did a great job in the 60's!

My brother was working as a mechanic way back in the early '70's and witnessed a Riviera swerve off the highway in a snow/ice storm and ended up sideways on an extremely steep shoulder bank. He says that when he saw that car at that angle he knew that he wanted a Riviera for his following summer stock car.
He won the Tri-State Championship that summer with a 60's Riviera that he built for mile dirt tracks.
.
No help to this thread, but I thought I'd brag a bit on his behalf.

I think it was the GS or maybe a GSX that I was looking for in manual. Is that maybe a Skylark?
