Trivago, really?
Just how big of a challenge is it to book a hotel? I travel every week of my life and have never had a problem. Yet their ads run incessantly. Those ads have to cost a fortune and they're, well, annoying. I think they're rivaling the idiotic Liberty Mutual ads.
Rant over.

The dude in the ads has a weird look about him. Maybe it's me but still...

It must be the advertising agency that has him looking so unkempt. Sloppy clothes, unshaven, no belt, pants that hit atop his shoes and wrinkled half way up to his knees. That smirk. And this - dirty teeth. What are they thinking? To whom are they appealing with this slob?

It's not about difficulty, it's about saving $2.00.
People want to think they paid the absolute minimum price, these websites feed them what they want. Lots of choice, lowest price. Or at least they think they paid the lowest price, in the end that's all that matters.

I was on Trivago last night, I found the service helpful. I had a 8oclock shadow beard and was looking pretty slovenly. Maybe that was the appeal.
My brush with fame, I went to high school with the Trivago guy.

Is it just me but is Trivago just a clearing house for other booking sites? Seems like it just spits out a bunch of links to other sites.
I usually hit a few sites like Hotel.com and/or expedia, find a hotel I like, then google the hotel to see what the best price is.

I'll add to the rant -- Hilton was running an ad on Pandora for a LONG time about "click-around-it is," a made-up disease where people constantly click-around the internet trying to find the best prices on Hilton hotels. ... Which is obviously silly, because if you're staying in a Hilton, you're just going to log in to your Hilton account and book the thing.
Almost as obnoxious as the ZipRecruiter ad -- "Hiring people is ... the worst part of my job." (sigh)

Actually this is what I do....I'll use Trivago to find the hotel and then go directly to the hotel's website...usually a couple of $ less. For flights, I'll use Expedia and then go directly to the airline's website for a few $$ savings.

They are advertising constantly on UK TV too.
A girl ( who doesn,t need a shave)explains that you just push a few keys on their website and you find the hotel you want at the best price. In my recent experiences, I find the hotel on Booking.com or similar sites and then ring them direct for an an even lower price.
