Hugh,
I'm sold. I just ordered mine from Amazon yesterday based on your tips. Will take a couple of extra days since now on backorder. Thanks!!

Of course, the backlog is based on my sterling recommendations as an automotive and RV expert and visionary on PPOT and the RV forums where I also posted. Sorry about that.

Bill, I read somewhere once that the LED brake lights come on a few milliseconds faster than the regular ones, something to consider.... 60 MPH=88 ft/second....

Maybe. AC LEDs have a slight delay when you turn them on. If the DC system doesn't use a driver circuit, it should have no delay.

At 60 mph, a 1ms delay will be about 1 inch.

OK, an inch is not much, but you're right. One inch is something when some numb nuts is not paying attention, checking his/her phone, and bearing down on the rear end of your car/RV. I've had drivers stop that close and honk their horns like I was the problem..

They suck about 1 watt where the older incandescent ones sucked about 20 watts each. Spade connector, direct replacement, "warm" lighting. Nice when you're "dry camping" with no shore power, and don't need/want to run the generator as much.

Also, the old filament bulbs tend to break with all the vibration traveling down the road. Just thought I'd share.

I bought a bunch of these for mine as well... ...but they were too "white" and frankly had 1/2 the light of the incandescent.

Which ones did you buy?

I replaced my map lights in my Tahoe with cheap led bulbs. They weren't that good. I purchased Phillips led bulbs ($20 for 2). They're much brighter.
Also like Hugh said I didn't realize led bulbs were polarity sensitive.

These ones, a little whiter than the regular bulbs. Just as bright. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B018XIRLDO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8

the very, very back ones are still regular bulbs.

No flash, point and shoot.
