Greek Theater

Many moons ago I had season tickets to the Greek, saw a lot of great shows, great acoustics (outdoors but great sound system and I'm pretty picky).

Only downside was the parking, back then they parked you on the lawn nose to tail, side by side so after the concert you had to wait for everyone parked behind you to show up and leave first. To make it worse you had to leave via surface streets through a residential area making for a lovely traffic jam.

Boston and Joan Jett are playing there and I would like to see the show.

Anyone been there recently? Does the parking still suck?

TIA

Parking for the Hollywood Bowl is a similar PITA but shuttles make it a bit easier to get yourself there. Try using the Greek's shuttle service, or maybe UBER or LYFT to a parking site away from the venue. Skip the encores and leave a little early to avoid the traffic jams.

Yes it does. That's my old hood. Ran miles of x-country back in high school there. Traffic is worst now x10. My friend lives off Vermont within walking distance to the Greek. We stay away form their house when there's something going on. Parking is a little better now that they have people help directing traffic, but not great.

I love to see Boston and Jett

I wonder how much Boston is left in the group if Scholz is the only original member left.

I realize he was most of the original group but with Delp gone ...............

BTW I talked to Tom Scholz on the phone around 1980 or 81.
A friend of mine was a studio bass player and was sitting in with them and he called me.

Looking at their website I see the shuttles run down to Commonwealth, more shuttle parking up the canyon but that seems counter productive.

I wouldn't go to the Hollywood Bowl without taking the charter bus.

Saw Journey in Las Vegas and it was almost the original line up except for the singer (great show).

Thanks again

I saw Social Distortion last summer and Elvis Costello 2 years ago.

I will say yes, traffic is bad but if you live in LA/OC you are used to it

Scott, When the Greek lets out, the traffic is only bad going to Los Feliz unless you want to go through those narrow residential streets. I think they block em now if there's an event. Go straight through and cut across one of the side street or going straight down South on Sunset (less then 1 mile) and take sunset down near down town and catch the fwy way home. Los Feliz will be a btich going to the 5. Sunset flows pretty well after 9
