Boy you are cheap. Man you should increase your food budget so that wife doesn't go hungry.

The Onion reports 85% of food borne illnesses are preceded by the comment "Smells okay."

The Onion, always vigilant!

I have 4 kids. All of us eat leftovers for up to a 5 days. Chili tastes awesome on day 2 to 3.

Spaghetti is best after a couple of days of aging in the fridge.

My wife was raised maybe "upper poor class". She still keeps to a similar rule of not eating leftovers now that she doesn't have to. We've worked her back to "scraped off the plate into that old coolwhip tub for tomorrow" means leftovers - as that is what she was brought up with. When we make four servings of dinner for two of us and immediately package the other two for tomorrow or next week... that's not leftovers.

She still microwaves pizza the next day - that's my next battle. Day old pizza is eaten cold, usually in the kitchen. Never seated. Rarely fully clothed...

Vash - that burrito? Peel the aluminum foil carefully on the half you eat, and then use it to re-pack the leftover half. Put away and enjoy the second half the next day!

We keep all leftovers at home, if they haven't been on the plate. My lunch usually is frozen leftovers. If we cooked it, it goes into the fridge - set very cold - and we eat it up to 5 days if it isn't fish.

Restaurant food we do take home, but we eat the next day if possible and nuke it on high for safety, you never know how fresh it was starting out. We don't go out to eat much and if we do, usually the same Italian restaurant that serves reasonable portions which we are able to finish.

I don't think anyone at my house has had food poisoning in 25 years.

Yep...gets hotter after festering for a few days. Hotter still after it's been frozen.

My SIL dates everything she puts in the fridge. If it reaches a week, it gets tossed. She also gives away anything in her house that is not part of the decor that hasn't been used in a year.
