Pete's Dragon-The Movie

I worked on it in NZ a few years ago and finally watched it tonight on Neflix, not bad for a Disney kid's movie. A little campy but OK, didn't do well at the box office.

Kids and I enjoyed it.

With that beinh said, the redhead was a lot slimmer in her other movies.

Was she pregnant possibly?

Went and found it this morning and added it to the play list for tonight.
Thanks for the recommendation.

Years ago, I scratch built a 1:160 model of the Passamaquoddy light house for a friend's model railroad layout. Here it is set up outside to take photos in real daylight. I modeled the kid and the girl but no dragon.

A friend lent me a pile of their DVD's to check out, Pete's was in the stack and I had nothing to do one afternoon so I checked it out.

Very well done, the CGI is amazing.

In the 1977 movie staring Helen Reddy as Nora and Mickey Rooney as Lampie, the fictitious town with the light house was named Passamaquoddy. I have not seen the latest movie to know if they changed all that.

FWIW, not a fictional town. The Passamaquoddy Tribe inhabited most of Maine. Now there's a bay and a town that bears their name in Maine.

Admittedly I slept through a bunch of the movie on Friday night but that isn't unusual for me.
My son liked it and didn't want to watch the very first part with the accident. He had seen it before in the theater and didn't want to see that part again.
