PPI recommendation in Columbia, SC?

This is turning into a quasi-painful experience but I found the perfect F-250 that is located about 400 miles away. The F-250 is in the Columbia, SC area so I want see if I could get a recommendation for a company to perform a PPI.

I will suggest Complete Car Care. The owner,Mike, is a big car guy and a member of the PCA.

What year is the F-250 and is it a diesel? Any competent repair shop should be able to inspect a Ford PU truck, check for accidents or rust, etc.

If it's a Powerstroke diesel, someone who knows diesels in general and PS diesels specifically should check it out. If you want, you can PM me your phone # and I can tell you what to have them look at if that's the case.

I wouldn't have time to type it all out today.

Thanks for the references to Complete Car Care and Andrew's! I'll contact them now.

Even though the 6.7 Powerstroke is still under the bumper to bumper warranty, I still want someone with a diesel background to check it out. The last vehicle I bought and had shipped to me was under warranty too but the dealership provided enough info to assure me the vehicle was as advertised. I also had the option to reject the vehicle when they delivered it but I don't have confidence that this dealership would honor such an agreement.

Unfortunately this deal isn't going to be easy mainly because the salesman isn't trustworthy and because they're playing the game which I already told him to cut the chase, but he didn't listen. Because the CarFax was squeaky clean my initial plan was to have the truck inspected, pay for it, then have it shipped but there is too much risk dealing with them so now I'm also checking into flying into Columbia later this week. Normally I would walk away from this but the truck is exactly what I was looking for over the past three weeks. If we don’t have a contract in place tonight, then I’ll compromise on what I wanted and move onto my 2nd choice.

Denis, I’d greatly appreciate any info you’d like to share so I’ll send you a PM shortly. Thanks again for the recommendations.

Thanks again for the recommendations. I decided to pass on the truck in Columbia and kept looking long and hard for another three weeks until I finally found the right truck Friday. Ended up buying a 2016 F250 with a CPO warranty so all I have to do is keep up on the maintenance and let Ford take care of the repairs.

On a side note I'd like to thank Denis for sharing some of his insight on diesels. Actually, I think we talked more about old BMW motorcycles, the military, and politics than anything else but still enjoyed talking with someone I consider to be a "senior" member of this board!
