Selling Ticketmaster tickets? How? (Tom Petty in Dallas)
Update: Just paid $18.50 to have paper tickets delivered. What a racket, they don't make it easy.
So my wife/SO bought extra tickets for Tom Petty this weekend in Dallas, and Ticketmaster seems to make it impossible to transferor sell the tickets for this concert. For one extra set, we are just going to get our friends (whom we trust) to log in as her and add the tickets to their iPhones. Unfortunately that leaves us with 2 extra tickets which you can't sell on their site. Any tips on how to sell them elsewhere? I have never done it. Do we simply suck up the $18.50 printing fee for "lost tickets" or say pick up at Will Call? I am afraid that at will call, they won't release the tickets unless they are in my name. Any tips would be appreciated. We are not looking to make money, but rather get our money back. Thanks, Neil

Hmm, too bad. I'd go to the show but already committed to something else.

I've sold tickets on Stubhub that I purchased thru Ticketmaster for a concert at the Greek Theater in Berkeley, CA. My name was on the paper tickets I printed at home, but evidently it wasn't a problem for the purchaser to use them. I've also purchased tickets thru Stubhub and had no trouble entering the venue, even though there was a different name on the ticket. Nobody at the show has time to check the IDs of everyone coming in.

Ticketmaster also has a market place where you can sell them.
If they are not in your possession, TM may be able to just cancel your order and refund your money. Tickets will go back into the for sale pool. Call their cust service. I had to "give back" some U2 presale tickets and they were shockingly good to work with. Pains me to say it as much as I loathe TM but i got my $$ back.

I thought U2 just showed up at peoples houses and started playing songs no one requested. actually letting people CHOOSE to listen to them....didn't think that was part of their model.
