that is a serious set up car with full IPD suspension
with the adjustable bits
740 t head will bolt on not much peak with the stock turbo
but good mid range power extra 30hp 2000rpm up
unless you go nuts with the turbo
88's are zinced so way less rust
If I didnot have a 93 245 and spare I would bid
no airbag or ABS is the only minus

volvo sticks are ok stock or mild turbo
kind of weak for real 300-400 hp a big turbo can make
there are kits to swap in a ford or toyo trans

Just saw this '71 145 located in California.

Unfortunately...it's an automatic.

Clean unmolested California wagon. Body is has imperfections and rust clearly show in photos but if you know vintage Volvo's you will know these are common rust areas. The only things on this car that have been changed are the carb and intake being upgraded to a Weber and electric fuel pump added at that time. also the stereo was changed to a modern receiver. Interior is in excellent shape with only very minor defects. this car is 46 years old but the interior looks great. 2 small tears in the rear seat that had tape put over them as seen in photos. Rear seat folds as it should and one of the folding panels would need a section of carpet installed to appear as it did from the factory. All glass is in good shape, if the car was to be restore, all weather stripping should be replaced because it still original. Runs and drives, has current California Registration until July 2017 and is also currently Insured. Does run a little rough and could probably use a tune up, Carb was rebuilt a couple weeks ago. Valve cover leaks and one of the seals in the transmission leaks but could all be easily repaired with a little time. I have a complete OEM engine gasket kit that I ordered in hopes of doing a full engine reseal to make it a daily driver but will be moving and cant take the car with me. Kicking myself for not listening to you guys and getting a low miles Volvo...
Instead I got a 2015 Nissan Versa, get great gas mileage and has all the bells (Blue tooth, airbags, cruise control and radio buttons on the wheel, etc.)
But it is probably the least fun car money can buy.
For the $10K I could have had a nice little Volvo.
