Chevy Corvette 789 - whacky

I saw this in the neighborhood this past weekend. Per their website, $140k.

I've always liked the back end of the '59 Chevies. And I like '58 Chevies, and the '57 is obviously iconic. It was kind of cool in person from certain angles. the part that seemed the most out of place or out of proportion to me is the greenhouse. The stock 'vette windshield is so long and sloped and the top so small and low. It would, I'm sure, be a huge PITA and add a ton of cost to give it a greenhouse more like a '57 T-bird, but that would probably look a lot better.

I like the idea, but the execution didn't come off that great.

The read bumper *badly* needs to be a separate piece of body work.

Smaller brakes and a larger side wall wheel/tire combo would help. The wheels and tires do not match.

Side mirror needs to change, perhaps front fender mount.

Fix these three, and it'd look a lot less tacky.

Mirrors perhaps like this. The modern mirrors it has just look out of place.

Thunderbird body panels?? On what frame? That was somebody's pride and joy at one time, but personally not my style.

Looks to me like it has Corvette wheels, Corvette Mirrors, Corvette Mirrors, Corvette convertable top and Corvette windshield. I'd say Corvette base.

Not thunderbird.

'59 rear

'58 middle

'57 front

'57 Thunderbird, similar, but different (frankly, better)

All based on a C6 Corvette.

Pics of this creature creation were being sent around more than a few years back. I thought it was fugly then. My opinion hasn't changed.

But that's just my opinion...somebody may love it.

FWIW, they look better with the top down, and more flamboyant two tone color schemes.

Nuke it from orbit, just to be sure.

It kind of reminds me of those 917 kits (as far as aesthetics and proportion go).

This is a friend of mines. He used to work for CRC and did a lot of the work himself. Very nice C/F work. Fit and finish is excellent. It's not my kind of car but does look nice in person.
