2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS Spy Shots

If you're like me then you've anxiously been waiting for any info with the word Porsche 911 GT2 RS - finally, we've got some news! Newly released spy shots via TopSpeed show the RS on the track, in what looks like production-ready form.

What do you all think - is this car going to one day warrant the ~$500k price tag that its predecessor commands nowadays?

Black cars are so hard to keep clean.

It looks bad to the bone.

I bet they are covering up some interesting details with that cladding.

I lived in Germany from 2001-04 and saw test vehicles several times. Strange indeed with tape and body parts.

On one occasion, I was on the Autobahn and was passing a testbed Cayenne that was blacked out and had tape in multiple places, even covering the steering wheel logo.

As I got close enough to check it out and see the dash and steering wheel logo, the driver gave me a gentle nudge without making contact. I go the hint and drove on by. He passed me later like I was standing still.

The latest spy shots show a really cool looking led light bar running between the tail lights.

If you look at the rear shot you can see the notches on the inside edges of the tail lights.

Still a case of evolution not revolutionn

I think you are referring to the 2019 spy shots, and not the 2018 ones originally posted.

Most of the new details can be found at the rear which sports a wide spoiler that spans the width of the car. The taillights also consist of one long strip that appears to follow the curve of the rear spoiler’s leading edge, and the exhaust tips are positioned slightly closer to the center of the rear bumper. It also looks like the rear intakes are larger than on the current model. And at the front, we can see that the headlights are positioned at a slightly different angle than on the current 911.
I don't know what to make of those 2019 pictures, best stick to the original topic as not to confuse the two cars.
