B-25s over Ohio
It started early Saturday. I was working outside and a B-25 flew right over the house. It came over about every hour for the rest of the day. The rumbling sound of those two big radials is impressive. Turns out "it" may have been one of several B-25s in the area this weekend. I had no idea, or Mrs WD and I would have driven over to catch a flight.

Some B-25 trivia: The movie "Catch 22" did a great deal to save a large number of B-25s that had been sitting around the US in various states of disrepair and are now flying today. Some were already flyable but many had to have a lot of work done to get down to the Mexico film location. Eighteen in all, no CG back then. The opening sequence is very impressive.

Thirty Seconds over Vista
We get flyovers every spring here in south Vista, being only 3 miles east of Palomar Airport.
I took these photos two years ago, right outside my office door. A B-25 and a B-17. Those are palm trees, not mushroom clouds :-) ![]() ![]()

There is an air show in this area every summer. Blue Angels do their thing, a lot of old warbirds flying around. I saw a B-29 in the air and about fell over.

I was playing golf friday in SEast Indiana, about 1:30. Many times A10's fly over. I heard a jet and looked up only to see 2 B1B bombers flying slow with their wings spread out. Quite impressive seeing 2 at once. The were flying towards Cincinnati area.

They are celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Doolittle Tokyo raid.
There is still one pilot from the raid that is still alive. I believe it was Doolittle's copilot. Ceremony April 18th. Great planes, was a needed boost for the US at the time Gary |
