extremely newb question

I am wondering, I see on the bottom of some peoples postings they are including what cars they own, quotes, etc kinda like a signature. I edited my info on my "About me" in the interests section but dont see it showing up under my posts. Is there another way to do it? As you can see by my post count Im pretty new to this. Thanks!

I'm not sure all the user feature show up until you get a few more posts under your belt.

It should tell you somewhere in the User CP (upper bar at top of page)

Please, don't bother. Most of us don't care and if we did we'd just look at your public profile.
There is no logical reason to clog up page after page after page with wasted electrons.

That's fair.

I'll take the 2002:cool:

Edit:

We have had a lot of the same vintage cars. Nice grouping.

No worries, as far as Im concerned everyone is a faceless man behind a computer screen who I will probably never meet.

Take it.. and you can finish the metal, fab work, and paint it. Then promptly give it back ;)

Thanks, besides the 68 912 that I will be selling soon to make room for the 86, the rest are keepers. and complete my dream list.

LOL

If I see a user with a similar vehicle (motorcycle usually) I can ask them a question about it via PM or look for threads where they have mentioned their similar vehicle.

It's got a few uses. Not many, but a few.

righteousrags88 04-19-2017 12:14 PM

Thanks

I'll just be clear though. Most are in a project state as I have been in acquisition mode for the last little over 2 years. Figured I need to jump on these cars now before they all become unobtanium.

But currently my 2002 is at the metal shop getting the rust repaired, getting a rollbar put in and having some mounts fabbed for a Blacktop 20v 4age that will be going into it.

The 240z was the very first car that I purchased alittle over 2 years ago and its had its ups and downs and has been a big learning curve as it was my first bare metal restoration experience. Met some ****s on the way but now all the metal work is complete and have about 95% of all the parts. Just needs paint to commence but that has been stalled with all the new acquisitions.

The 912 was gonna be the last one on the list for restoration but due to my recent acquisition of a 86 911 ex track. Its unfortunately gonna be listed for sale soon as a roller.

The Alfa will be my first turn key car that should be in drivers condition. Just landed in Tacoma on monday from its voyage from the Land of the Rising Sun. Definitely not interested in tearing into as I wont let another summer pass me by. Just want to drive in and enjoy it this year as I restore the others.

Cant wait for when my only decision will be, which car should I drive? as oppose to, which car should I continue pouring money into for restoration? haha

VERY nice stable! I'd be happy to own any of those cars. :D

PM me first if you want to dump the Z. ...If it's orange, I'll throw in golf lessons for free.

+1
I don't see why people post a list of all the cars they've ever owned in their sig line. I don't even care about the cars you own now unless it is pertinent to the thread.

Yes, the 912 should be available very soon, Gonna have to dig out of my 2 car garage which is currently housing 3 cars haha. Look for it within the next week probably. Its a very good base to start from, not a basket case, and will have a few extras included.

Sorry the Z is a keeper. Was my first purchase and my wife is now emotionally vested into it. Might even end up being her car once its finished. I should probably start another thread and post pictures of the progress on all the cars, even though they arent all porsche related.

Trust me this list would go on and on and on if I posted sold cars. These are the current ones, which dont even include some of the parts cars, and motorcycle haha

Speak for yourself. I love to see what people have in their garage.

HardDrive 04-19-2017 05:50 PM

Wow, lots of grumpy old man karma in here.....

Steve Carlton 04-19-2017 08:07 PM

I would like to see pictures NOW.

Bill Douglas 04-19-2017 08:21 PM

I for one for love to see a pic of the car. The more electrons the better. If you don't want to do a car pic a cat or dog pic will just fine too.

Like I said they're all in project state besides the Alfa which should be cleared through customs by friday. But here's a picture of it being loaded when it was getting transported to a port in Nagoya.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1492663801.jpg

On this board that never happens.

Check out the Stijn! thread. It has more replies than any other thread on this board. It is a thread about nothing at all. Kinda like a random thoughts thread.

Just start on page one and read it all the way through

sammyg2 04-20-2017 08:33 AM

I don't think grumpy has anything to do with it.

How many of us have visited a car forum (other than pelican) that allowed huge signatures with pictures of member's cars or trucks etc, and the signatures took up 3/4 of the friggin page?
Scroll, scroll, scroll, hey was that content?
No, just more signature.

Shirley there has to be some content in that thread somewhere,
Right Shirley?

We already have advertisements show up under posts when not logged in.
We don't need the signatures to surpass the actual posts.

THAT is why I said what i said.

It is a bid deal? Not even. But it can get out of hand.

EDIT:
and besides, that's only my opinion and it means nothing. This isn't my forum and i don't make the rules.

Tobra 04-20-2017 08:51 AM

Sam, I think you might have a little sand in your panties, let it go.

scuze the you know what out of me for having an opinion, but yur right. there are bigger things to be concerned about than someone's future barn finds.

Hey BTW, did you notice that WDfifteen agreed with me in this thread? bet that'll never happen again.

Here's more of the Alfa. Ive owned it since Friday but I was able to do alittle shoot with it with FullofHappy. Since then I have removed the front and rear bumpers, sorted through some unneeded wiring, and ordered some more parts for it from Alfaholics.

I don't care who you are, that there is funny.

Well, perhaps funny is too strong a word, but Ironic, now there's a word...
