The jazz is fantastic as well.

I saw it a while ago, but thought it was very good. Remember with Christopher Plummer.

Walk on Water
Conspiracy

I just realized they were all WW2 related.

24hr war is great.

Along the same vein is the second Truth in 24 about audis lemans effort. It's for purchase but is $0.00. Great movie documenting how much work Audi put into winning that year.

Since Big Fan got more than one vote here, I started with it.

Was a good watch.

Although the whole time I was watching it, all I could envision was the PPOT regulars.

Someone could make an updated Big Fan, called "Off Topic," with full time Internet Bulletin Board debate champs/Guardians of Truth in place of the sports fan. That would seriously be pure gold.

As a huge fan of the books I had wondered who might be best to cast as Bosch. I think Titus was a great pick. And, while Bosch was written as a Vietnam vet I think the writers did well to update the time line, having him a Iraqi/Afghan vet.

I am tempted to binge watch but would rather savor it .....

"Off Topic" follows the life of Terence Aufiero (Patton Oswalt), an expert on all subjects and a devout poster on an automotive parts bulletin board, and parking garage attendant. Terence plods along through his life, living with his mother (Marcia Jean Kurtz) in Seattle, working nights at the parking garage, and finishing everyday by cranking one out before he falls asleep. We soon see that the only thing that Terence really cares about is proving his knowledge of constitutional law and winning "debates" on the internet. Terence meticulously crafts posts about why his opinions are correct and posts to the car parts board, where he is a known contributor and enemy of Beygore. Terence seems happy with this life and only asks that come Sunday he can look back on his 500 posts that week and know that he won the Internet. Things then take a turn for Terence as a night out with his best friend Sal (Kevin Corrigan) results in a sighting of Beygore. The two follow Beygore eventually coming to a strip club in Orange. In the club Terence finally builds up the guts to go over and talk to Beygore and in a drunken state Beygore misinterprets something Terence says and beats him to a pulp. The rest of the film follows Terence and his struggle to figure out his life as everyone around him tries to get him to sue, and imprison Beygore.

^^^ You left out the part where he went to the local car outing...only to not be allowed in because all he had was a Chev Cobalt...so he sat in the parking lot and watched!

Patton was great for that part.

If you're into a somewhat adult, British, comedy series, "Catastrophe" is pretty funny, I think.

Wow!

That was an incredibly well done movie. What a roller coaster, and so well written and acted. I got totally absorbed into it.

So many nuances in it, they did a great job of powerfully leaving many things to the imagination, rather than gratuitiously hitting you in the face with it.

One of the best movies I've seen in a while, thanks for the recommendation.

^^^ It was up for a couple academy awards...not sure if it won any...it should have.
Just when you think the movie is over because of the situation...it moves into the best part...the aftermath.
Post #5 is the best doc/movie on Amazon that I have seen.

I had that exact same reaction. Actually, there were a couple of times I thought it was going to end (and it easily could have), but was amazed when it kept delving deeper. So many thought-provoking moments in that film.

I don't follow the awards shows, and didn't realize it was up for so many Oscars. I'd never heard of the movie before! I looked it up and the woman who played the mother won for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Well deserved. She was amazing.

I saw Manchester by the Sea in the theater (a once a year thing for me).

I liked it a lot.

The WWII movie in Post #5 isn't available free on Amazon Prime, at least when I looked last week . . .

I have it in my watchlist...seen it twice.
Now, to watch it, it tells me that I have to enroll in "Magnolia Selects"....whatever that is?
