I only do the forums with Firefox, but have had no issues. I also block a lot of CDNs, ad servers, etc. at the DNS level.

Oh snap is a Chrome specific error.

General remedies include the standard stuff like clearing cache, cookies, deleting and recreating your profile if you have one, turning off hardware acceleration in Chrome settings.

Just google, oh snap something went wrong.

One of the more common fixes is reported to be rolling back your version.

EDIT: below is for Windows, just noticed after posting you said driod.

You can find them here.

Google Chrome 58.0.3029.96 - History - FileHippo.com

The problem is knowing what your previous version was.

Thanks Scott! I'll investigate this more later, but I'm stumped??? I run my 'droid lean and mean, don't allow updates, don't use extensions, and rarely visit other sites other than here and a handful of others....until two days ago....spoon shopping . So when it started, I was handicapped....couldn't visit any site, except a couple, but I cleared all caches, most stuff is disabled, plenty of memory, etc. and by stumbling around, I finally disabled JavaScript after a day of Aw Snaps...and learned that's where my issue lies.

I see where the rollout of Chrome 58 started havoc on many platforms beginning May 2...
I'm on Chrome 42.0.2311.111

Maybe I've become infected...I dunno? Will pursue it more later if it doesn't automagically unbreak itself . Former systems programmer here....but I don't know, nor do I want to know doodlysquat about this schit no mo'

I didn't know about the support forums until your post however....I'm a dinosaur, but will dig in later if I have too....meantime....No Java for me

Thanks man!!!

edited: Pelican seems to be the only site JavaScript must be disabled for the pages to load....other sites I have to enable JS for them to function....stumped????

Yeah, was just finishing up a project for a client.

Turned them lose to beat up the backend and stress test it.

Everyone in the office was getting the oh snap but no one outside the building.

Even if someone took their laptop home, the problem went away.

Managing Director is beating me up to "fix" the back end.

4 days of back and forth to get him to understand I can't go to every person on the face of the planet that might hit this thing and make sure THIER computer, network, or whatever was configured correctly.

Has nothing to do with what I built but what they were using and where they were using it from to access what I built.

I suspect the issue is their firewall in the building.

I nearly posted here to have you guys beat it up to see how pervasive the issue might be in the real world but we resolved it.

The oh snap is too generic an error because there are literally dozens of things that can trigger it and sometimes it's a combination of several of them.

Chrome needs to do a better job of explaining why it farted.
