Way back when you asked me a couple of banking questions re the sale of your DB.

Here's some un-asked for advice - review very carefully the FTB rules (maybe with a CPA who has EDD experience) regarding the bizarre way the Golden State will try to reach out and tax you as if you spent the whole year here. I have a friend who kept his home here when he left the state, and he has effectively avoided the FTB, but only with a lot of planning.

Among many other strategies, just to be safe he only spends cash in CA and credit in his new home state... :)

They are constantly after me. Just got a bill from the Great State of California 6 months ago to the tune of $9,700 for not filing California taxes :roll eyes: My CPA whips out a return to them every other year or so to let them know I am not a California resident.

I am still getting CA DMV renewal bills on bikes I sold 7-8 years ago.

Here's another great reason why a lot of the country has a hard-on for California:

Great. Now even the ocean is getting too crowded!
