Cheer on my local Olympic track cycling chick will ya.
When she gets back, I am going to meet here and hopefully get to see her metal(s) since I am a huge cycling fan.
I found out over the weekend, Megan Jastrab, track cycling, is from Diamond Bar, CA then moved to Apple Valley CA (JR world champ as well as many national and international titles). Her aunt still lives across the street from the wife of childhood friend of mine in West Covina where they all grew up. She knew the aunt well, they are just a year apart. Megan's dad went to school with my friend's wife's brother. I will be watching our local girl like a hawk. Up to this point, I have never heard of her, been out of the who's who in the local cycling loop. Woo-hoo- go Megan. https://usacycling.org/article/megan-jastrabs-ridetotokyo |

Very cool. Don't eat the medals, they are toxic!

Right, I saw an article where the Japanese officials are saying that since there are recycled electronics, they could have toxic materials and the winners should not bite them.

I haven't met her dad yet but will one day. Since I learned about her, my interest has been pegged. I assume her dad must be in his late 40s or 50s, and have been riding or racing back in the mid 80-mid 90s, I might know him or ridden with him. Back then, there were only so many bike bums around.
Baz, I love how she just rode away from the Russian girl, head down sprinting uphill to the line. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9747QEX2N0E If you like crashes (I know, horrible), watch that year's women jr worlds. Its pretty good |

It must be the water from down un-dar. You have been producing great track riders since the late 70s. So many of them turn pro on the road. Now, that Phil Anderson dude is a class act. He was my other English speaking hero within a sea of Europeans when I was a kid.
