Porsche rags....Whirlpool washing machine disaster
OK, so this is off topic. (C'mon Wayne, leave it here!)
I have a bunch of rags that I use when working on the Porsche. The other day I threw them into the washer and ran a cycle. I left the house while it was running. When I came back, I discovered I had thrown a scrub brush in with the rags, and the handle of the brush had put a dozen or so dents into the tub of the washer. I'm trying to get the old tub out to install the new one. Does anyone know how to remove the tub from a Whirlpool washing machine? It's gotta be easer than a partial engine drop! Thanks.

Raise washing machine using 3 Ton floor jack. Support said machine using four jack stands. Place floor jack under machine mechanism and raise to support while removing bolts securing machine innerds. Lower aforementioned innerds and pull from below machine....
Honestly, I have NO idea but maybe someone else here has worked on a Whirlpool (or equivalent Nissan, Toyota, etc.) Sorry to hear about your mishap. More money into appliances = less money for toys .

I suspect you'll have to remove the control section, top and maybe part of the back. These things are designed for ease of manufacture and to take up little space; ease of repair is a tertiary concern. If you need parts and repair advice I've found www.repairclinic.com helpful. Jim

buy a maytag? Actually, taking dirty car rags to a laundromat may be a wise choice. Let the gunk & oil and brushes
go in their machines.

How much time do you have before the wife comes home? There was a rerun of 'Coach' the other night where he burned up Christines oven. He realized they were in a condo and the next door neighbor had an exact unit. They made the switch in the nick of time.
There was a post a couple years ago where the guy had a picture of a disassembled engine he ran through his dishwasher. Good luck!

Jim Sims' advice about www.repairclinic.com was right on. I found an article on how to open up and remove the cabinet, and from there on instinct took over and I had the job done in a couple of hours. Porsches, washing machines...you guys know it all!
Thanks, everyone!
