Bourdais at Indy

Hard hit, lucky he's still alive. Just one twitch and gone!

That was a hard hit. They say he was conscious and moving when the safety team got to him but they sure took their time getting him out of the car and then straight to Methodist General. Lucky man indeed.

Pelvis fracture that required surgery.

That was a hard hit. 230 MPH. Bad angle at which to hit the fence. Lucky he's alive.

I read this morning that the hit was 118 Gs. The advances in driver safety are amazing.

Get well soon, Sebastian.

I watched it live. The slow motion replay looks like he oversteer and tried to "correct" it which sent him straight into the wall nose first.

Before modern safety technology he would have been dead or at the very least lost both his legs a la Zanardi. Bourdais' crash reminded me of Danny "On-the-gas" (as he was called).
