iphone locks up!
Lately I have been experiencing my iphone 6 lock up/freeze several times a day. Is there no fix for this? It has the latest updates. Any ideas? FWIW I am at 10.3.2. This appears to be a common problem lately. I have had this phone for years with no problem. Now all of the sudden I feel I have a Microsoft product in my hands! :(

Try turning JavaScript off. My 4s doesn't work with it turned on.

I had a bad upgrade on my 5s a while ago and it froze a few times a day.
Not surprisingly a new upgrade appeared in short order and the issue went away. |
I don't feel like backing it up and doing a factory reset only to have the issue immediately reappear.

Now, I have the opposite problem with my week-old iPhone 7 Plus. The screen lock won't stay. It lights up as soon as I move the phone. I have it set to only unlock with a password, but, for some reason, that doesn't apply to the music app. I used. So, when I'm at the gym, anytime I move the phone or touch the screen anywhere, it comes back to life and a false touch can change, pause or end the song. How to get this thing to really lock except for when I hit the home button? |
Let me know if you figure it out Rick. That's been annoying me since I got my 7.

My 6 started doing that after the most recent update.

Turn off raise to wake under settings-display and brightness

There is a feature to light up the screen when the phone is lifted to a viewing position to show any new texts etc but phone is still locked. Will also show pause, fwd, rev if playing music. It can be turned off in the settings menu.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1495863191.png |

Are you up to date with the OS? |
Gave my 78 yo brother my iPhone 6. He says it has all kinds of problems. Showed him how to reboot it. 99.99% of his problems are operator error. He was upset because he couldn't text people's home land line phones. He can't make it through setting up an Apple ID or even receiving Yahoo mail. He thinks any time the battery isn't 100% it needs the charger plugged in.
First, make sure you have the latest iOS and delete any apps you don't use. The apple store will keep track of what you own so you can re-install them if you want. Then go through the Cellular settings and turn off phone data for any apps you don't need when mobile. Greatly reduces battery when away from wifi and reduces data usage. I rarely use over 1 GB of data per month. Go thru the Notifications settings and turn off notifications on the apps you don't need, especially Show on Locked Screen. The more stuff you show on locked screen, the more you are making available to others without entering you passcode. Under Display and Brightness make sure Autolock isn't set to a ridiculously low time like 30 seconds. Keep mine at 2 minutes. |
