RIP Greg Allman

The Allman Brothers Band and Greg Allman ,One of my all time
favorites. We've lost alot of great musicians over the last few
years. Not easily replaceable, most of today's talent can't
hold a candle to the musicians of that era. Saw him in concert
in Seattle in the eighties.

Wow.............have to say he lived the life but it really showed in the last few years. Even with that he still outlived a lot of his contemporaries. Dan Rather interviewed him last year, was quite revealing. He actuality at one point pissed Dan off........

Live at the Filmore East, still one of the best live albums ever made. My generation is fading out. This hits hard

Oh no! So sorry to hear. Some people are so special they should live forever. Mr. Allman is one of them. He will live forever on this earth as long as there are those who remember him. Here's praying that there is an afterlife where he will be honored forever.

A buddy was jamming with him last month at Randy Wood Guitars. He said it was like being with royalty. :)

What a shame. I met him, his brother and Barry Oakley just outside Statesville, NC before they were very famous. They helped a friend out of a jam (bad trip) and they were overly generous. It's something you never forget.

The southern rocker's passing was announced on his official website, adding that Allman "passed away peacefully at his home in Savannah, Georgia" on Saturday.

Allman's death comes after rumors circulated last month that he had entered hospice care. A rep for the rocker told ABC News that the rumors were not true.

Still, Allman had been suffering from ill health in recent years, dealing with a respiratory infection, a hernia, a liver transplant and an irregular heartbeat.

I especially liked how he shot himself in the foot because he was too much of a coward to serve his country.

Thankful that he lasted this long. He wasn't exactly a saint when it came to healthy lifestyle choices.

^^^^^^This is what pissed Dan off in the interview..........you guys should DVR the series off of AXSTV - most of Dan's sessions are very good getting his subjects to open up.
