Cockledoodledoo....

I have changed over the years...I joke that I now go to bed when I used to go out, and get up when I used to get home :). It's not far from the truth. I don't require much sleep....so if I wake up at 4....I'm up...just waiting around for the sun to come up....unless Tabby is correct today :). When I was a youngin', and my dad would say "early bird gets the worm".... yeah, but the early worm gets eaten :(. So...are you an early bird or a sleepy head if given the choice?

I live to "do more".
So, when I am awake in the morning, I get out running, no matter what weather.
It may be 4 or 5 or 6 o'clock, family still sleeping.

I'm a night owl. I always have been. For the past 10-15 years though, I can get into an early morning groove if work requires me to be in early. By early, I mean 5-6, not 4. I could still very easily slip back into the late thing if I didn't have to go into work early though. Over the course of a week, I could stay up later and later until I was a night owl again. Fortunately, I wake up refreshed and ready to go regardless of the time.

I predict in about 4B years the sun won't be coming up anymore. Now be sure to put that down on your calendar.

I go to bed at 10:30 and usually I am up by 6:00 AM. I sleep quite well and wake up and bounce out of bed to head for the shower and get ready for the day. I learned long ago to not even talk to my wife for at least an hour after she is trying to get ready. I never have understood how someone could want to hit the snooze button several times. It is just crazy to me. Get up and go.

I think I learned to get out of bed quickly and early in the Military.
I want REM till the alarm goes off then wake up in the shower.

I've never used the snooze alarm, where as the wife in a snooze alarm abuser.
Once it starts going off why even fall a sleep, with an egg timer/alarm going off every 10 minutes.

Sleeping is overrated...

Get up @ 04:50 on workday and I'm lucky to make it to 06:00 on week-end.

kach22i 06-01-2017 05:46 AM

Work out or go swimming, your need for sleep will go up I predict.

ckelly78z 06-01-2017 08:23 AM

Generally, my alarm is set for 5:10 every morning, and are headed to work at 6:00. Weekends are a time I stay up until midnight, and sleep in till 8:00. There are many mornings that I get up at 4:10 and do overtime early, rather than later in the afternoon.

My wife is now retired so she just turns off the alarm right after it goes off. When she was working she would set the alarm to be 12 minutes early so in the middle of the night if I wake up a little and wonder if I have an hour more to sleep or 5 minutes I had to do math in my head to figure out what time it really is. Now she set it for the correct time. I still don't understand why she wanted to set it to read 12 minutes early and then be able to hit the snooze button.

A snooze alarm is just an irritating thing. I've never used one. Since a young guy, I've gone to bed from 10 to 11 and awakened at 6. My wife likes to sleep in, but once the morning hits I'm awake. Most of my life, when I've had the opportunity, I've also taken a half hour rest in the afternoons. At a younger age when napping in the PM, after a half hour I'd feel my metabolism begin to rev up & I'd know the end was there. Now days a half hour is enough but the metabolism thing is a ghost of the past.

Some days I'm on Newfoundland time and some days I'm on BC time. 4.5 hours difference. :)

Very rarely go to bed before 1- 1:30 am and get up sometime @9:30ish. I have never understood the point or see any reason to get up any earlier if you don't have to.. I understand for work, etc. but if you have nothing to do, or it's a Saturday, or whatever, why on earth would anybody get up so early??. Just why?

Even if I'm up well past midnight, like last night, I still wake up after 4-5 hours and I'm up. I'm wide awake at the slightest noise....sleep through the birds early mornng chirping...impossible (they haven't started yet...it's only 5 :(. Haven't slept past 6:30 in 15 years at least....I have no Idea why, I just can't...anymore :). When I was younger, I could, but that was when I got home at 4-5 after a music show, etc. Come on sun....I've got stuff to do....:)!!!

pete3799 06-02-2017 02:56 AM

I go to bed between 10 -11
I'm up at 5. Start work at 6. I've got a 1 mile commute. ByeSmileWavy

You will have plenty of time to sleep when you are dead.

Best time of the day is from when it starts to get light to when you can see the sun.
