Happy month
I'm having happy month.
I've been very rollercoaster-ish mental health/happiness so I've decided to have a happy month. NO worrying about anything. Anything bad, sad, or other than happy gets thrown out. Hehe, I'll worry about it someother time. Well, here's to happy month :) |
Way to go, Bill.
Don't let the buggers get you down. Best Les |

Good for you Bill. I'm on an upswing as well. Drudgery seems to be the norm but sometimes we hit a "purple patch".
Here's to more "purple"! ;) |
Minor depression comes and goes for me, I enjoy this time of the year, and looking forward to some hot days, in the backyard pool. I think Winter, early Spring is where my attitude needs to be adjusted....maybe we will go back to Jamaica in Feb for our 30th next year......something to look forward to.
Good luck with your "Happy Month", I hope it is ! |
Timely- I was in a lecture last Friday when the presenter started talking about the "Breath" feature on his I-watch. Sounded hokey, which he jokingly admitted, but he went into the virtues of stopping what you were doing, clearing the mind of everything, and taking a single deliberate deep inhalation/exhalation focusing only on the quality and the depth of the breathing. "If it is important enough for Jobs to come back from the dead to remind us to breath, it must be realllllllly important." he joked.
As someone (like everyone else) with own my fair share of stress and anxiety, as I was laughing at the silliness of it, I was also open to suggestions and willing to give it a shot. After all, breathing certainly couldn't hurt. Not having an I-watch (and not about to get one), I decided to use some other beeps and random buzzers in my clinic. I also decided to try it any time I was getting worked up over the usual mental BS occupying my mind (which is a lot- concerning several different areas of stress). The whole point is that when people get all worked up, we enter a fight or flight mode. Stress rises, breathing becomes shallow, and we go through life in a sympathetic response. The simple act of stopping everything is "supposed" to reset everything, like turning off the computer and restarting. I've been doing it for a week, jokingly informing coworkers I have visited a shaman and am employing new techniques of positive orb energy and ritualistic breathing. Funny thing is- As silly as it sounds- It works. |
Stay positive, it all ways helps me through tough times.

Good for you! Everyone has rough patches more people should have happy months!
|
Good subject OP. The way I see it is this. I read a lot and I cannot remember where I got this concept from. This is more generalized than the OP's concept.
Our mood is controlled by our thoughts. So in theory if you have positive thoughts you should be in a good mood. :) |
What a great concept a happy month I'm going to do it for sure been a little down lately thanks
|
Congrats on the Happy Month! Here's to many more!
|
I think a happy month for me would be to ignore world events/political discussions, and to stay out of PARF.
|
LOL Thanks for the words of support Guys!
Yes I'm happy already and had quite a good night's sleep. Fingers crossed for the game plan to continue working. Have fun :) |
Good for you!
These longer, warmer days, can put a smile on your face! |
Bah. Humbug. Oh wait, I meant to say GOOD FOR YOU!
Seriously; "A merry heart doeth good like a medicine." "As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he." You will go in the direction you are focused upon. Keep your eyes on the goal of being content. Dwell on all the things you are thankful for. |

Your post did surprise me a bit, Bill. We all go through our own roller coaster rides, but I just assumed yours was a little flatter than most  Here's to your Happy Month! Cheers. |
Bill
Your idea is awesome. We each get to choose which behaviors we see each day affect us. It is up to us, no one else. Good for you! We keep it even simpler in our home. We have been doing it for almost 10 years now. Here is how it works, and yes it sounds goofy... If we wake up in the morning, it is a good day, because we got another day to roam the earth. I say to my son every morning "what kind of day is it today?" he says "its a great day" I say "why is that" he says "because our eyes opened". We have good reasons for the creation of this tradition and it works for us! Cheers |
Get someone to drive you down your favorite road so you can stick your head out the window and catch bugs. Goggles if you'd rather keep your eyes open.

Bill-
Good for you man. Often people don't realize the influence they have over their own experience. Not to sound like a karma guru or some alternative healer but I'm a believer that how we react to what's around us is 50% of the outcome. Good new is we can control our reactions. I hope your having more blue in your sky than clouds! |
Timely post. A racer from a family I've gotten to know over the last several years passed away after a single car accident last sunday. His motto, "every day counts"
