Yelp help

The modern world. Old Jack, a great old customer, calls me all worried yesterday. He has just read on yelp, that I am listed as CLOSED.
I missed his call , I was at the Dentist, so he thought it was true. I called him back this morning .
I checked, and sure enough, I am listed as CLOSED.
I am certainly not closed. I just worked 5 12 hour days this week. My customers know me, and how to get a hold of me. If the sun is up, I am at work .
Should I even sweat this ? I am not really looking for new business, nor am I thinking about growing any larger .

Have you claimed your business on Yelp? That is the first step.

Beware if you contact them, they'll push you to buy advertising.

I was able to go in and change the info. It was all fudgered up. They had my address correct, but had a phone number from a shop I was in in 2001. Thanks for the reply !!

Double check your google business profile is up to date too.

Be very careful when dealing with Yelp. They are the king of predatory sales, almost extortion. They may have posted you closed as a way of forcing contact and a sales opportunity.

My wife's salon was contacted by their salesperson. She had zero Yelp reviews. She has good referral customers and declined their offer. Within a week she had several anonymous negative reviews posted. Coincidence? I hardly think so.

This is exactly what I am expecting to happen.

I'll put in a bad review for you to get you started.

Ignore. You don't need Yelp and the customers you have and will have don't use Yelp.

I have to come visit you one day. I am close and have a friend/customer in Franklin/Oil City area that is always driving one of his odd ball collection of cars down to the Pittsburgh area for some "top" work for his convertibles.

Do you do oil changes and 100-point inspections for $29.95?

Are you already plastered at 6:37 PM?

Thanks Steve!! with friends like you .... Any time Bob! would be great to meet you , Im always around, if you ever are heading into town, shoot me a message . I am about 25 miles north of Pittsburgh, only about 10 minutes from the turnpike. You probably shoot right past me

Steve Carlton 06-09-2017 05:45 PM

Sure. If I'm gonna drive 3,000 miles for an oil change and a 5-star Yelp review, it's gotta be a great deal. I run synthetic by the way.
