2005 Mercedes E320CDI
Anyone here own one? I'm looking at one with 150,000 miles, looks like new, $8,500 ish.
I understand 2005 is the end of the 'good' straight six diesel block. I think the wiring harness issues ended around this time, not 100% sure though. I need a solid highway cruiser, is this a 'buy' or 'avoid' car? I do my own repairs, not afraid to tackle issues. But I don't want to be wrenching every weekend. Nor do I want to retrofit a SBC V8 if the engine craps the bed.

Call your insurance company and ask them what they would pay if it was totaled. Thats what its worth. I had a E320 got tapped in the rear and insurance company totaled it quick. Money was 3,800.00. I had that in repairs in past year. Sounds high to me. With that many miles.
