Sorry Mike. Lost mine a few years back. I think about him almost every day.

He's down in the Keys at Sea Base all summer. I called him when I found out - he still had a few hours before his shift. He called me back an hour later. He had bought a book on Hemingway and discovered a place on sit and read that was secluded. I thought 'who is this kid'? He is an active guy, loves to take stuff a part fix and build, and very social. Reading is not his strong suit so for him to do that is welcomed but uncharacteristic. I think he needed to pull back and gather himself. Its all good.

The loss of a father is huge. It sounds like you were very close to him and your description of him makes him out to be a good man. You had your father for a long time which is a good thing. The impact on your son as well will be great.

Mike, I am sorry to hear about your father's passing. He's amazing man. I just went through this about 2 weeks ago. Then funereal was just this past Saturday.

Thanks for all the kind words! You guys are amazing. while we knew this day would come, it still wan't easy. I found out an hour before I had to teach a certification class. When I hung up with my brother I could hear my Dads voice say 'Solder on'. yup.
