Three firefoxes running?

Must be a glitch in the matrix.
The last one can be killed safely, but touching the other two results in reloading the page.

Does anyone else have this?

I wasn't having trouble with my Firefox at work and had to delete my Firefox profile and start over. Try creating a new profile and running from there.

Weird. I never see more than 1.

I installed Chrome today to troubleshoot a problem that I was having. When you start up Chrome and it looks as a fresh install to google.com, you get 6 instances, that then drop down to 5 instances. Which is REALLY odd in my book. But it does seem to be fairly speedy.

Chrome spawns a process for every open window.

Bit of a CPU pig.

They often run amok.

I'm migrating to opera.

As far as I can remember all the web browsers load multiple copies of what appear themselves. Usually one is the main browser, then a new one for each thing that is happening such as those little video windows that Yahoo throws on the screen. If you find a utility that shows what is inside everything, I.E. DLL's, process parts and such then that will clear things up. Sometimes all those graphic advertisements like the ones on the top of this site take additional copies of the browser.
