Soft Gel Caps

Can I slice a 1000 IU gel cap in half and expect to end up with two equal halves containing 500 IU each?

...or they filled with a liquid/gel that will run out when I slice?

Thanks in advance,
Bill K

freeze it first

I suspect they are filled with something that will run out unless you freeze it first like MD says. Of course, you then may need to worry about the half that you don't take immediately.

Put the other half back in the freezer?

Take it every 2 days ... SmileWavy

Freezing may not be good for the contents.

Some are filled with liquid, some aren't. You'll need to know what's in it

Oh, also, why not cut one open and find out?

1k IU (i assume vitamin D) is about the base unit. Example: If you take 2k and think you need 2.5k, I'd just go to 3k or 2k, difference will be minimal. If you are really anal, then do like I said and take 2 one day and 3 the other.

also keep in mind you only absorb between 5-7% if taken orally

I, personally, are fine with 5-7%. Other than 100% the other way.
