Best burger ever

We were in Cooperstown recently for the boys baseball team doing a tournament there. Had a burger at Council Rock Brewery and I gotta say it was the best I've ever had. Pretzel bun, good beefy flavor....just awesome.

Also enjoyed the pesto fries.

Sorry no pics as I am told pics of food has jumped the shark.

If you are down in Houston, Bernie's Burger Bus is the place to go. Truffle fries!

If you are in florida find a metro diner get the vortex burger. It's a burger with two grilled cheese for the buns and a pickle slaw. Amazing

Not that I'm trying to stop you, but any time you get "truffle ______" and it's not the kind of place where they are charging you for truffles by the gram and grating them at the table, then you are getting synthetic truffle flavor.

I'll have to try that place out.

I've been the the Hubcap Grill downtown and the other location (Heights?) a couple of times. They are pretty good. There, I think it's mostly about the novelty. My current favorite is "The Burger Joint" at Montrose and Westheimer. What's even better is Lankford's Grocery & Market, but I almost always get breakfast instead of a burger when I go there.

Lunch Menu | School House Restaurant & Tavern in Sanger

About a week ago i had the Central's Burger from this place, I was in the mood for beef and was curious to see how a pub burger would stack up in Ireland vs. here.

I was blown away, best burger I had in a long time. The triple fried chips made it better and double of Powers made it excellent.

Dinner Menu | Central - BAR Complex

The crazy thing, after eating out every meal for a week, we never once had the bloated over salted feeling you get when eating out in the states. The food was seasoned like you would at home, no sodium bombs.

The Schoolhouse here uses a 100% scratch made kitchen. Even the mayonaisse and ketchup is made from scratch. What you're talking about is from processed food.

All those are rookies and wanabe's.....Hodad's in Ocean Beach! California might be the weirdest place to live in the U.S. but.......

JavaBrewer 06-26-2017 08:17 PM

Haha we don't eat out much but Hodads in OB is a family favorite. We are huge Sushi fans but this place is right there. So simple and so good.

BeyGon 06-26-2017 09:31 PM

I am sure they are all good, it's tough to say the "best" but we really like the Angus Burger at The Harbor Grill,,,,in Dana Point Harbor, it really isn't a burger place, a steak and seafood spot but they do have a great burger.

Last week I had a really good burger in West Virginia at:

Greenbrier Grille and Lodge :: River Place Restaurant and Lodging :: Marlinton, West Virginia :: Breakfast :: Lunch :: Dinner

Twas a good honest burger. Guy I was with (a food snob like myself) called it the "best burger he had ever eaten."

Is it the best? I dunno, but it was really good. If in WV, try one out. Just a basic really good burger at a fair price. No frills. No show. Just really tasty. How tasty? I'm still thinking about it a week later tasty.
