1. Borgward Isabella Coupe
2. Hupmobile Skylark (looks like an 810 Cord... used the same body converted to rear wheel drive, no hidden headlights, coffin-nose.) |

That was quick, I've not seen either one of these cars before.

Hmmm, we have a local here that drives his Hupmobile regularly, takes it to shows.
Pretty sure that's an Isabella, friend's father had one in Albuquerque, this one's a bit customized... what do you think? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Borgward_Isabella#/media/File:2015-03-03_Geneva_Motor_Show_3326.JPG Last edited by tcar; 07-03-2017 at 12:16 PM.. |

Correct on the Borgward, good call, cuz it's heavily modified the grille is missing that huge ugly diamond and the headlights are missing their chrome surrounds and have been heavily frenched. The stance on this car is really good in person.
You called it a Hup, but it's actually a cousin of the Hup, (and the Cord) it's a 1941 Graham. Unusual cars to show up at a local hot rod show and shine for sure!!!

I was wondering if someone picked up the rights to the Isabella after they stopped, but I couldn't find anything but some Mexican and Argentinian versions that were produced later, and I think they looked the same as the original.

They are identical visually (different engines, trans) and built and sold concurrently, so I'll give myself half credit. ![]() Last edited by tcar; 07-03-2017 at 12:39 PM.. |

I should know that, I worked for a firm many years ago that did a project for the Graham family...

(The Borg makes a much better looking custom, especially with the tasteful mods the owner did. That long fender line is gorgeous!)

I think the Graham-Paige is one of my favourite designs of that era. It looks "right-sized" to me.
