It is nice to know that I can total my '89 Carrera and still, supposedly, have the remains of the car worth as much as I think it is worth in its current un-totaled condition . . .

Too bad those "matching numbers" aren't from an S. Then those VIN tags would be even more valuable.

Someone commented they were driving behind that car when it crashed and that the cause was the failure of a suspension/steering component. Would be interesting to know exactly what the failure was so we can inspect our own vehicles.

The cause of failure was the owner was smoking crack from the same batch when they priced the car as when they worked on the car.

Was a Loose Nut connecting the seat to the steering wheel.....

I stepped away from air-cooled to play with Porsche's water-cooled offerings for about ten years. I absolutely cannot believe what prices have done. Seriously?

Now I think of all the $1,000-7,000 cars I looked at when shopping for a 911 in the early 2000s... :(
