The Addams Family: My third musical

We just finished the first weekend of the Addams Family Musical at Coastal Repertory Theater in Half Moon Bay. Here's the Ancestors doing "But Love" with Uncle Fester. I'm the one to the left left of Fester in the hat with a feather. (I'm a musketeer.) I was also in Oliver! and Big in recent years. And a couple of dramas.

There's nothing more fun than performing with a great cast in a great show like this. I've been living Addams Family since early June. As Joe (who plays Fester) says, it takes the mundane out of life.

I was in a lot of plays when I was a kid. Scared the crap out of me till the curtain went up....then it was on. Ha!

The audience is loving it. We have an amazing cast of principals. As you can see, Fester is spot on. He shaved his full head of hair and beard for the show. No bald caps for him! My daughter, who's working the sound in the booth is convinced that our Gomez and Morticia are better than Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth were on Broadway. I'm not sure, but they are damn close. We are having a blast.

This is what happens when your dinner guest drinks too much acrimonium while playing "The Game", AKA "Full Disclosure".

Super cool! I would love to do something like that someday (perform on stage)
I have been on stage as a bass player in a band, performed for casual small groups... but acting would be a different can of worms.

4 more weekends. Come down to HMB and make a day of it. Watch the show on Saturday night while all the tourists sit in traffic to get back over the hill. It's a really good show, if I do say so myself. Come down and say hi after the show.

That is really cool.

I really enjoy live performances.

Good for you Charlie, looks like a lot of fun. We were in Half moon bay this time last year. Bravo!

You should try it sometime, if there's a community theater in your neck of the woods. I know of no better way to add some excitement and flavor to one's life. The camaraderie between the actors, band, and crew is awesome.

Just go to an audition and see what happens. Sometimes they just need bodies to fill in the ensemble roles. Of course, you'll want to have some talent, which you undoubtedly do, having played in bands.

You know that feeling of excitement and anticipation you get before going on a spirited run in the P-car, especially if on the track? And the satisfied feeling afterwards? This is better. For me, at least. Sounds like another popular activity, doesn't it?
