Dog goggles.

Seriously. Just left the vets office. Our new adoption dog just got fully vaccinated and a total checkup. He is a white dog with pink skin. We already put sunscreen on his face. Not his eyes; which are surrounded by very pink eyelids. Vet looked at us, explained sunscreen. Then she said "about those eyes". I interrupted and said, " Please don't say goggles".

SHe said, "goggles!"

She strongly suggest we work with Hank and get him used to goggles. Hahaha,

This is gonna take an effen miracle. I bet Cesar Milan can't get goggles on my "white lightning"

Pending: my new thread about dog bites :D

Tomorrow is our cats vet visit. She will probably suggest a mouth guard.

And we'll make her next two boat payments.

The family next to the church I grew in had a basset hound who rode on the back of their motorcycle. He had a Snoopy and the Red Baron WWI style leather helmet complete with goggles. He was a fixture around town and always looked like riding the bike was his favorite thing in the world. They had something fixed up on the seat that kept him secure but I never figured out what it was. I was always too fascinated with the pup's helmet and goggles setup.

So it can be done. Maybe try him out on your mountain bike and see if he appreciates the wind protection goggles give him as he stick his face into the wind.

Hey Clfff is Hank food/treat motivated? Start with him sitting in front of you and as you begin to hand feed him a piece of food in one hand, start bringing the goggles closer with the other....slowly at first, to his face, gradually until you're holding them in front of his eyes, but not touching him. Based upon his reaction, you'll know how fast to proceed....take it slow until you've got the goggles over his eyes, but no strap...that comes when he doesn't mind goggles against his eyes in exchange for a reward.

Or just try to strap the goggles on, while taking a video, and post it here :)

Bribery is your friend....good luck!!!

My GSD has an eye issue and we have the Rex Specs. I use the smoked lenses the most. They work well.

This is as wonderful as NOT getting your dog vaccinated because it causes Autism!!!!! IN DOGS????

911boost 08-04-2017 05:32 AM

Mine would have survived, but she'd be blind.

Yeah, it wasn't too bad, she tried getting them off by rolling around, but if you keep the lenses clean she doesn't seem to mind.

I'm looking for a used baby sling...those baby harnesses that women wear over their chest.
Hate leaving my pup (18 lbs.) home when I want to take the bike to my g/f's place.
He looks at me with those eyes when I'm about to leave on the bike...then I take him in the car instead.
So, been looking at "Doggles" on Amazon.
Now Rex Specs. Look like a possibility...but $85...???
.
