Would I have Done the Same?
I found this article very compelling. I didn't know much about Ray Allen. I do now.
https://theplayerstribune.com/ray-allen-why-i-went-to-auschwitz/ When the Skoczylas family was risking their own lives to hide people they barely knew, they weren’t doing it because they practiced the same religion or were the same race. They did it because they were decent, courageous human beings. They were the same as those people crouched in a hole. And they knew that those people didn’t deserve what was being done to them. Allen reflects: “I asked myself a really tough question: Would I have done the same?” And again: “Really, would I have done the same?” http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1501865466.jpg |
Damn compelling...

Powerful read.
Thanks for sharing. |
I have always found him to be a class act. Thank you for this

He is indeed a mensch.

+1. Thank you.

I have a great respect for people who act out for causes that don't even impact them directly. Like Ray Allen said, you would do it as a HUMAN.

Thanks for posting that.
I have never heard of Ray Allen but he now has my utmost respect. |
Thanks, that was a great read.
I'm obviously a huge fan of him. Met him a few times on campus and he was always friendly and down to earth. He actually negotiated his own NBA contract without an agent. |
