Sorry to see that. It looks so familiar. There is a T intersection about a mile from here with a house right at the T. Someone fails to stop about once a month. The poor guy's front yard looks just like the shots of your place all the time. He gave up and quit putting the fence back up, but they've hit a big tree there so many times they killed it.

I would put up a decorative limestone fence. We have on at work and it works wonders. Well, the maintenance guys have to pick up car body parts now and then.

You need to get the county to address this issue. They can put up a guardrail, some signage and blinking lights. It's a nuisance for you and a danger to the idiots that can't stay on the road.

Or, you could put in a pond...
|
I like the pond idea, maybe with a cement waterfall facing the house.
County needs to put up signs and lights. You could maybe put some of that reflective vinyl tape on the fence, go this way style <<<<< Harbor Freight has some solar powered lights that might good for that corner too, or a game camera |
Unfortunately at this point you can't really install any type of barrier that would "stop" them.
You put in anything that stops them in their tracks comes with a risk of injury to the driver / passengers. Since this has happened so often the precedent is set and any injury to the occupants of a vehicle coming in contact with a barrier that you install leaves you open for a law suit. Local Government needs to fix it. |

I did the decorative landscape boulders. Still had a few run into the boulders, but it defiantly slowed them down. Only drawback was weed eating around the boulders. I had one guy roll his truck over, this was in a 25 mile zone. Another took out his oil pan and then left. I called the cops as it also tore off his front license plate. They followed the oil trail to where a flatbed was loading up the guys moms Mercedes.
I had a dump truck hauling boulders from a local quarry for a day, and them placed them with a front end loader. On the curve I did just stack some smaller ones as I didn't want anyone hurt, but I didn't care if it tore up their vehicle. |

Doesn't stop people from ignoring set of signs one, set of signs two, set of signs three, only to find themselves at 55MPH with no more road. |
T, Good to hear there were some county signs hidden in the shrubs at least...
In my 'youthful exuberance' I've experienced a few country roads with increasing curves(such as off ramps) going from what looks like 50mph to a solid 15mph. Those were unmarked. All the rest were my own dang fault of course. 30 accidents in the fron yard is about 25 too many. It's your property and your right. |
You need to park a piece of farm eqipment on your side of the fence. There won't be any more exit wounds in the fence, and probably won't be able to drive away.
