RETIRED

Read the story or watch the movie. It was quite the cover up and shameful how they treated the captain and surviving crew...

Glad its been found... I have a few friends who worked to make this happen and it was a long and hard road until they found the ship.

I think it's great they found the ship. Not an easy task. But what is the real purpose in looking for it. We know why it went down, it's not a salvage or treasure operation. So why all the effort to find it? Paul Allen just really bored?

The significance of finding the Indianapolis has to do with closure for the families of those who were lost. We're talking about approx. 900 sailors who lost their lives.
That's a lot of families.

If it helps the families of those that died, great. I don't see how tho. There are no unanswered questions that will now be answered. I just don't see that as the motivator for the people that did the search. But more power to 'em.

You're not suffering a delusion of people being rational are you?? Besides, if Paul Allen doesn't find it, nobody else is even looking for it.
