Testing on Mount Evans, CO

Family vacation in CO has been full of fun and awesome vistas, but imagine my surprise today when I spotted these "disguised " vehicles driving along the road to the summit of Mount Evans in CO. Seems the road to the summit is the highest in the world, topping out at 14,127'. Many manufactures use Mount Evans for that reason, including what appeared to be Mercedes Benz today. Looks possibly like 2018 AMG GLA hatch.

Yep, testing is done on Pikes Peak as well. First batch of Macans went up to the top and wouldn't restart! Had to tow em back down. Helped them decide on final fuel mappping though.

When I used to live in Prescott, AZ I would see camouflaged cars every now and then. The automakers have several desert test centers and they would leave the desert, head up to Prescott at 5000 feet on their way to Flagstaff (7000 ft). Would sometimes see some European cars not sold here.
