Don Lemon (CNN) takes the cake for suggesting that Malaysia Flight 370 was swallowed by a black hole.
The guest quickly and calmly replied "No, the whole planet would have disappeared along with it" |
The problems with the media is that they:
- put their priorty on being FIRST to report rather than CORRECT when they report. Sling it out there as fast as you can and we'll fix mistakes later. - are a for profit business and sensationalism sells. It doesn't matter if the info is correct. Just lead with a shocking accusation or alleged incident and the ratings will go up. - no longer care to fact check and be knowledgeable. They are nothing more than pretty faces hawking a product for higher ratings to improve the corporate bottom line. This is why they destroy people's lives based on inuendos, bad information and, worst of all, muckraking personal or private information that really doesn't need to be told. This is also why they believe in the crap they are fed about so call science from folks like Al Gore who profit handsomely by shoveling misleading or doctored up data to promote his book and speaking tour. |
The current hurricane Irma panic rests with the media. Last weekend the hype started about this storm and on Monday the stores were sold out of WATER in Jax. Give me a break. It's now Saturday and it still hasn't made landfall. I knew people that left Jax on Wednesday and headed north. These people did not live in an evacuation zone. The Weather Channel, Facebook, and all other media have sucked people in. How about some common sense?

The morning of the recent eclipse one of the local Charlotte channels had a live report from Lake Murray, SC, near Columbia. The reporter breathlessly stated more than once that the lake would have up to 250,000 small boats viewing the total eclipse. There aren't that many boats in all SC or NC!
|
Well...that's not entirely accurate P911Dad. I agree that it seems really unlikely that 250,000 would all be on that lake watching the eclipse, but it is no where near the total number of boats in SC and NC.
NMMA Releases 2010 U.S. Recreational Boat Registration Statistics Report Per this information, dated a few years go - there are over 800,000 registered boats in those two states. Plus all the boats not registered for various reasons. Seems like there would probably be a million at least, right? angela |
The WSJ fellow who writes on cars is pretty good. The guy at the Washington Post is beyond terrible. He attended a local DE event and bragged about the V8s in the 911 Turbo and getting it up to 125 MPH!!! on the straight.
The MSM evidently knows absolutely nothing about cars, guns or airplanes. They think your kid's .22 is an assault rifle and can't tell the difference between an Embraer and an A-380. |
You have to remember, the journalists were taught journalism in school. They are seldom an expert on anything they report on, and in many cases are completely clueless about the subjects. Like others, I have noticed that every story that I've had inside knowledge of has been reported incorrectly. Frankly I'd rather hear from someone who is a subject matter expert and knows nothing about how to present news, then a trained a journalist who knows nothing of the subject.
Then, there are those that get hired because they're attractive physically, and not necessarily because they have any real talent for reading or reporting... And now we have a substantial percentage of journalists that have apparently migrated from the news division to the editorial division, and don't report the news at all, but give their editorial opinions on everything that takes place. |

~~~~~~~~~~ We might hear an argument about that from the very few authentically objective journalists in this country. As in "higher learning" institutions, teaching Left-leaning bias is rampant. . https://www.amazon.com/Bias-Insider-Exposes-Media-Distort/dp/0060520841 |
OK, so I know that is a joke, but it is real close to true. I have seen a reporter stick a microphone in the face of a lady watching her house burn down and the reporter how it makes her feel. They had to bleep a lot and protect the reporter from the husband. |
Alarmingly spot on. Unfortunately, the Left-leaning media's self-embarrassment will not prompt them back into sensibility...let alone objectivity. |
During the Lombardi era, the Packers had just won the Super Bowl. Joe Garagiola's first days with a mic...stuck it into the face of a Packer still fully dressed in the locker room and drenched in Champagne, and stupidly asked, "How do you feel right now?" The Packer moved back and away from JG, looked at him in amazement and said, "What?"
You could only assume that JG had been trained to ask such a thing at such a time. |
