what do you suppose is the best way to GoPro film shotgun action?

barrel mount?

let's say targets are plentiful and "flying to me"..and i am laying down flat in a ground blind dressed like marsh-grass.

put the camera on my head?

Hat mount would probably be better. They use them to film R/C planes all the time.

Headmount for sure BUT gopro will likely disappoint. if you want good footage drop the big bux (750) on shotkam. it only records actual shots (recoil activated---records xx seconds before the recoil and xx after).

I've seen some reasonably decent gopro bird footage on a head mount but overall it's not very exciting unless the birds are truly in your face and background contrast is good.

shotgun mounts are no good for the gopro.

PS if you DO buy the shotkam can I borrow it a couple weeks in December/Jan?

if you use the gopro be sure to 'zoom' it as much as possible.

Baz,

We did some videography during our African bird hunt. (1) of us wore a hat mount, the other had a barrel mount. We reviewed the raw footage and the hat mount provided better overall footage, but the barrel mount had a few cool scenes--bird flush, hear the shot, and see the bird fall.

Rig up a system where the camera is launched to follow the shell, ie BulletCam!

You know those teeny, tiny camera folks swallow for intestinal pics? I wanna see one loaded in the shot shell....that would be SO cool...but expensive

Assuming you'll be stationary. Place the Go Pro on a tripod behind you facing towards the targets & blast away. Ideally you'll want your self either left or right of frame and mostly sky in the rest of the frame. Shaky Go Pro footage is really over rated.
