$1100 Porsche Pen...

Anyone used these pens? Thinking about picking up a couple for the kids to use at school.

Yeah, my 2nd grader has one, but to make sure nobody takes it, we wrote "BIC" on it with a Sharpie.

I'd love to try it out then spike it off the ground and say "uh that thing sucks!"

They're ok. I buy the boys enough to get through each school year but they never seem to last. It seems like I'm buying a dozen or so for them every year. They're nice enough, though and they have a little selection.

I have a few of those, braided stainless and the two carbon fiber ones at the center, bottom. Received them as gifts and still in the box. I use a Bic and some gel pens.

Some like to collect pens, and many of them go up in value. 20 years ago, I bought my brother a special edition Mont Blanc fountain for $800. Now that thing is worth $5k.

Got a braided one as a gift, never use it. I like the BIC velocity. Smoothest ballpoint ever.

I have the braided stainless. It isn't my every day pen but it is fun to use. Heavy sucker. I think it was about $150

The price of Status continues to climb for the poor elites.

Yes, pool cues can cost much more - but they are worth it!

I got the braided one 15 years ago as a PCA prize or something like that. I keep it in the leather Porsche portfolio it came with. For years it sat in a box and I never thought about it. Now it provides me with minor entertainment when I go to meetings and I get to look like I'm real serious when I open the portfolio and pull out my sweet pen as the meeting starts. Then I proceed to fiddle with it for the next hour, possibly ruining my seriousness.

I think, perhaps, that this belongs in that other thread "First world problems".
