The perils of cruising Craig's List

Looking for some odds and ends for my 94 E320, bought a sight unseen parts car that turned out to be way too nice to strip, so now I have 2. One has 90K miles, the other 186K. Both drive like they are new. Got it for the price of the new Yokohama's on it.

New car needs a driver's seat and am thinking of putting 2015 Volvo S60 seats into it.

That's some hella sweet `90's beige ya got thur. :D

If you have 2 identical "good" cars, why not make one "great" (or at least "gooder") via swapping parts, and flip/part the other as initially intended?

Just paint the one you intend to sell JFB (or at least the wheels and bright-work), then you'll be GTG.

Those are nice.

Yeah, I miss the navy with cork interior of my old wagon. But the beige/gold is nice person. Cops never see it so there is that.

I'm actually going to give one to a friend. She has a 2012 Fiesta and likes my car better than hers. It's definitely safer. Just not sure which one to give her. Paint on both is pretty close to excellent though I still have to paint the front bumper on my original car. That one I just did new A-arms and Bilstein HDs up front with Bilstein springs so it has closer to a Sportline feel. But because of the low mileage, it will be a better car for her so I'm leaning in that direction.

Those make good daily drivers? Straight 6?

I've been thinking about this project:

Meh, I bought a Manco Carbide 7010 "fun kart" for all of $350 as something fun for the son and I to mess around with. Now I'm obsessed with making it faster! I spent two days last week making a header for it along with an adapter for an intake. I then spent another day slowly reaming the main jet and inspecting the plug. Now I'm looking at working on the pilot jet to increase fuel for the idle circuit.
For anyone reading this, yes... it's a cry for help. I have lost my mind. :D:D

I try to stay away for CL now except for advertising my equipment.

Yup, straight 6 with 217hp, same as an 87 911 with 500 extra pounds. But they are surprisingly quick.

I would pass on that wagon with the wiring issue. Even if sorted out, it probably won't be done right. Wonder if it's the engine harness which are known to go bad. Takes 2 hours to put a later good used one in. Mercedes used biodegradable harness sheathing in the engine bay that caused huge problems. Most were fixed 20 years ago but my 90K mile car still had the original.

Personal taste, I've had a white wagon and they aren't very pretty. Black or navy are the best IMHO. Navy one above was lowered with E420 wheels, that car rocked.

a cheap luxo sedan with nice subtle design is tough to resist. even just to own one for a year then sell would be tempting.

good looking car in, imo, a good color.

Damn I love the W124. Such classy and timeless looking cars.

Edit: then the problem with Pelican is that I go straight to Craigslist and find a 1990 300TE for $3500 with a bunch of recent maintenance done. And I'm trying to reduce car count....
