Not like the movies
In the movies, a pool matchup for big money usually involves lots of trash talk, threats, heavy drinking, hot babes in the background, often ending in violence.
Gotta keep the audience interested, right? In the real world? Here's a couple of evenly matched but not top pros squaring off for 2 days in 10 ball. Race to 20 games won each day. Each side put up $20,000. Thus advertising that they are playing for $40,000. Live from the Ice House, Tempe Arizona. About 1/2 way through the first day right now. On The Rail on USTREAM: Bringing live pool / pocket billiards to you for free. On The Rail TV has been doing it since 2008. If you have any questions, comm... (edit) Forgot to mention..they're playing on a 10' table with very tight pockets. A foot longer, 6" wider than a standard tournament table.

Well...
One time long ago in a seedy bar far, far away my buddy got us involved in an 8-ball contest for which I was recruited to hold the moolah. Last I remember seeing saw was a buncha hotties running out the door and the 'winner' sprawled out flat on his back on the table rendered unconscious by his pal who snatched the cash and ran. That was like a movie. |
