Volvo s80 T6

I am turning in my 98 ML 320 which may be the worst car ever manufactured and the guy who I lease from (one of those aftermarket used car lease guys) said that I would love the Volvo s80 t6 (i suspect he has a bunch!). Does anyone know about these cars and their problems? MSN reviews make it sound terrible? Bulletin boards to find info? I am also considering the A6 2.7T

Thanks,

Joe 68 L

I can't provide valuable feedback on that particular model.
However, I did recently pick up an '95 850 Turbo. Check the thread here in OT.
I've been going to Volvo BBS sites and found some great info and tech advice. Check out

And look in the Visitor's cars section.
What's this guy's occupation?

If you get one, post pics here!

Don't know the S80 T6 but tried the V70 T5 (same platform as S80).

T5 was quick, but too peaky for a family car, as our wagon is, and I liked the low down torque of the low pressure turbo better. Think the S80 only has high pressure turbo or Norm. Asp.

Looked at BMW/Audi/Merc. Wagons, and the Volvo is definitely not as stiff as a German car, but it has way more room everywhere and is less expensive. Our V70 has proven to be a great long-distance car and with the 911, another stiffly suspended car wouldn't have made sense.

At about 25,000 miles, no problems so far.

For what it's worth, the Audi seemed underpowered next to a comparable BMW. The numbers don't skew this way, but that's how it felt. Beautiful interior on the Audi though, which is where you spend most of your time. Heated rear seats too!

Old Volvo's are excellent, look into a late 60's model..
