Can you identify this car?

A buddy saw this at an upcoming estate sale and asked me what it was.

A Jensen? Something from Argentina ("Rio"). It's a convertible, it that helps.

These were the "brilliant new design" with a Lotus designed cylinder head / alloy motor and the first mass produced double overhead cam sports car with the rubber timing belt.... that tended to wear out early and we became introduced to what was called the "interference valve" problem :D
They handle very well, even in early non sway bar editions. Later on, an "estate" mini wagon version came out, which imho looks pretty nice

Lotus tried to use this engine in the successor to the type 47 (Europa based) race car. But those motors kept blowing up

Local guy got a beater J-H, pulled the Lotus engine, swapped in a LSx then couldn't sell the Lotus engine to anyone. Lotus engine went to the scrap yard.
