So you are making this judgement on two videos that you have dug up to support your theory.

So watching these snippets, we don't know if Cindy was retaliating for some injustice that warranted the can opener move and lets face it the slash on the gloves thing happen every shift of every game. Should it? Shouldn't we be encouraging these "stars" to look after themselves? I am quite positive that you would scorn Cindy out if one of his teammates had to take care of business for him.

The players do not necessarily use the best gloves to protect them but the most comfortable and those that allow the best mobility. A few years back it was slash to the wrist when short gloves became all the rage.

I would say that the can opener should be reviewed as a deliberate attempt to injure. Perhaps they could reach back and look at the tape available for all of BM's indiscretions? Bad Brad has gotten away with far more than any other active player in the NHL. Key word, active....

Billy: "dug up"? No. These are two in the last two games this week. There are many. The officials look the other way when Cindy does things that other players gets nailed for.

Does he get hit? Sure. Legal hits are allowed and the officials can't do anything about it without tipping off that they have bias. Are some of the hits he gets hard? Darn right. As does any star player that is targeted by the opposing team but no one whines and cries like Cindy does.

Oh BTW, speaking of "dug up", YOU dug up some old videos in this thread as if somehow it justifies what Cindy did shouldn't have been penalized. Talk about a double standard. Maybe you are thinking you get a pass for things that others are chastised for (just like you buddy Cindy).

Sure did. They don't have to review Marchand's tapes. He is watched every second he is on the ice. "Bad Brad" doesn't get away with squat. I admit he did some bonehead things in the past but again, the issue is not Marchand. Don't deflect. Stay on topic:
I am saying that Cindy gets away with far more than ANY active player in the league because he is the Golden Girl. Those two major offenses totally ignored in the last two games is just the most recent evidence.

Few, if any, hockey fans criticize Sidney Crosby‘s skills or effort. Plenty of people still have a problem with the Pittsburgh Penguins center’s passion, particularly when he straddles the line between feisty and dirty.

And, of course, there are plenty who can’t stand Crosby chirping at referees, even if it’s a pretty common practice among most players.

Crosby’s gotten pretty nasty with Brandon Dubinsky and other members of the Columbus Blue Jackets, and things have been quite chippy between the two teams in their opening games in Pittsburgh. The Columbus Dispatch is really feeding into the disdain (and Crosby’s “reputation”) with these “Sid the Kid masks.”
