Creative Problem Solving
Microsoft stupidity #439.
I'm not going to harp on what a mess they've made out of SKYPE which tonight decided it did not want to launch so I do the normal thing, let's delete and reinstall. Half of that idea worked. Why won't it reinstall? Remembered that Conner recently changed his username on his Xbox which of course changed the username on my Surface because as a parent his Xbox account is under my email address and MSFT in all it's wisdom seems to think allowing us to distinguish different devices under one account is not something we may want to do. But I'm ranting, let me get to the point. Logged into my account to see what's what and notice I have a credit source expired, hmm, let's take a look. Oh well yes, one of the 2 cards on file did indeed expire recently so let's just remove it. Wait, what? I can't remove it because it's tied to a service and I need to get in touch with customer support for that service? But what service is it tied to, oh wait, there it is, a list of 3 and MSFT thinks it could be one of them. First of all, if you know it's tied to a service then why the **** can't you tell me which one? Do you really think I'm going to torture myself by getting in touch with not one but possibly 3 separate CS depts? I'd rather put on spandex, shove a handful of sand in the crotch and go run a 5k thank you very much. So I'll just leave the card there and next month when they try to bang it for whatever service it may be tied to and gets declined, they'll get in touch with me. Problem solved. |
And this is why if I have to have an account to do something, I don't need to do that thing.

LOL!
Thanks for the laugh. |

I only want to point out you are several digits off on your opening number.

HA! Ever used SiriusXM?...Or worse, tried to quit SiriusXM? I bought a vehicle with three months service free. Just call 800 number and activate with a credit card.
Me: Why do you need my CC# if three months are free? XM: We require a credit card in case you want to extend the service. Me: I don't want to extent the service, but I do want my 3 months free XM: Then give me a cc# Me: So, it's NOT free? XM: It is! We don't bill the card unless you renew, but we require it on file. There months later the charge is on my card. After hours of trying, can't get a billing representative on the phone. Try online to cancel....Impossible. Call sales and guy answers right away. Finally agrees to transfer me to billing: Me: Why am I being billed XM: You renewed your service. Me: No I didn't! I never signed or agreed too anything XM: You gave us a CC# and turned on the service, that implies you wanted the service Me: JUST THE FREE THREE MONTHS! You said I would not be billed XM: I'm sorry, you can cancel online. I'm just the billing customer service. Me: AHHHHH!!! I went to call AMEX to block the charge and saw that the card was only two months from expiring. Heck, I'll listen to XM until the card expires. 30 days later XM calls... XM: Hello Mr T, I see your credit card on file is about to expire. Can you please give me an updated CC# Me: LOLOLOLOLO! Go Fu@K 0FF! |
My wife has SiriusXM and had it in he last car. We sold that old car when she got her new car. So se calls them to transfer the account. Nope, not possible. You account is only good for one vehicle. WTF?
The only way they can do it is to activate the new service after the three months of free service are up and then cancel the service on the old car. Really. She can listen to SiriusXM in the house on our stereo since it has an app and it can actually log in to the account. I just listen to my music on a thumb drive. Set to random and let it play. No commercials, no fees. |
Remember this classic?

Went through that same thing with Sirius. But when they told me they couldn’t cancel and refund I told them I was going to call visa and disput the charge. Wouldn’t you know it, once I mentioned that she found a way to get it fixed. I love their service but they are crooks when it comes to billing. |
Walking through Walmart the other day, a good-looking lady approaches me. I'm a little excited until I see that she is wearing an Xfinity shirt.
Her: Sir, can I ask you a question? Me: Yes, you get one.....and you just asked it. Listen, I'm never, ever, ever using Comcast again. They owe me money. I'll be retaining an attorney next week as they've given me a run-around for the past three years They are the most immoral business I have ever encountered. I'm sorry to disappoint you. I'd recommend finding another job ASAP as you're probably going to hear this kind of thing a lot. |
Hmm OP sounds like MS hired some iTunes people.
